Nie | Romantyczni

Nie | Romantyczni is the first Polish ensemble dedicated to performing nineteenth-century repertoire on period instruments, founded in Gdańsk by conductor Federico Bresciani, who serves as its Artistic Director and Conductor, together with Gabriela Żmigrodzka, Co-Founder and General Manager.

The orchestra's mission grew out of a conviction that the Romantic repertoire deserves to be heard as its first audiences heard it — on the instruments, and in the sound world, of its own era. Under Bresciani's direction, Nie | Romantyczni has revived forgotten nineteenth-century Polish works by composers including Stanisław Moniuszko, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Zygmunt Noskowski, Władysław Żeleński, and Wojciech Kilar, bringing them to contemporary audiences through a historically informed lens.

Based in Gdańsk and performing across the Tri-City region and beyond, Nie | Romantyczni continues to build a repertoire centred on rediscovering Poland's Romantic musical heritage for listeners encountering it for the first time.
